This blog post was inspired by what I wish I learned when I first wanted to ditch the 9-5 lifestyle almost 5 years ago now! I went through hours of trainings and courses, learned TONS of marketing and design skills, and struggled for years, until I figured out what would work for me! So I wrote this blog hoping to save you the headache babe!

METHOD 1: Digital products
I am starting with this one because this was actually the first method I tried myself back in 2020. And I fell in love with this method very quickly! The thought of being able to use my creativity to build products ONE TIME, then post them online and make money from it FOREVER was a dream come true for your girl here!
The gist of this method is you would design a product like social media templates, website designs, mockups, journals, planners, etc... on a platform like Canva and then post your creations on your own website (or on a platform like Etsy or Stan Store). Then you would promote your digital products, bring people to them, and watch the money roll in!
Now, if you're reading this thinking "this sounds too good to be true what's the catch here" - we are one in the same babe! Because I soon discovered there are catches with this method. Catches that, if you aren't prepared for them, can make you feel like you are a failure. I learned that the hard way and I am sharing it here with you so you don't have to!

method 2: affiliate marketing
Think of your favorite social media influencers, on any social media platform. Ever seen the sponsored posts or ad posts where they recommend a product and share how much they use it and love it? Take TikTok Shop as an example, anyone can go onto TikTok, create a profile and purchase anything on the TikTok Shop. And even better, you can make videos of the products you buy and add a link for them to purchase it, if they do - you get a commission from the sale! This is the essence of affiliate marketing and digital marketing.
From my years of experience in Affiliate Marketing, I will give TikTok their props as they made being an affiliate VERY easy! And if you like making TikTok videos and buying things it could be a fun little side hustle to do. But let me tell you, the world of affiliate marketing is HUGE! Many companies now offer affiliate programs that most people can join. All you need is your own unique link. This is the link you will then drive your audience to, and when a sale is made - you get paid!

method 3: combine them in a resource hub
This method is the method that changed my online business FOREVER! Instead of wasting your time creating content that promote products and being an annoying sales person, you can take the approach of providing your audience with true VALUE in the form of a resource hub where your customers can go to connect with you, learn the benefits of what you're offering and feel like they have a best friend supporting them rather than a sales person trying to make money off them.
This method takes the perks of affiliate marketing and selling digital products and combines them into your very own online hub of information and value for your customer so they know they can trust you, and in effect, the products and services that you recommend! how will these money making methods change your life
If you got this far you are probably thinking, how could these money making methods really change my life? Sure, maybe I do end up making some money on the side but change my life? That's a bit of a stretch. Where are you going at here Kels... To that I say, there is a method to my madness. Let's get into it!
1: POTENTIAL TO FREE YOURSELF FROM THE 9-5 LIFESTYLE!
For many of you, this is going to start out as a side hustle. Something you do for an hour or so everyday, or when you have the time. But the potential here is truly limitless! Unlike a 9-5 that keeps you restricted at a particular income, online businesses like these don't have an earning limit! Meaning, if you get serious and put in the work to build it you can see results that will surpass what you are making at your 9-5 job! And just like anyone who starts to make more money then their job pays - you will quit! And that's the dream!
2: YOU START TO EMBRACE A GROWTH MINDSET
One thing my online business journey has taken me on was the road of self-reflection, self-healing, and personal growth! I had to sit with myself and get real about what I wanted my life to look like and whether my 9-5 lifestyle was going to take me there (in case you were wondering, it wasn't). I spent many nights stressed out, overthinking, strategizing, manifesting, goal setting, habit tracking, celebrating my wins, learning... I did it all!
When you start an online business you have to be your biggest supporter. The one who believes you can do it, even when life and the world is trying to convince you otherwise (& they will by the way). You need to push through the failures, the self-doubt, the limiting beliefs, and all the other B.S. you learned from this old 9-5 way of life. None of it is relevant! But more importantly, none of it is true babe! The more you dive into the world of online business and affiliate & digital marketing you will see just how worthy & capable you are!
You will start to make little changes at first, like working on your business when you get home rather than watching an episode of the latest reality tv show (that was the first goal I set for myself when I first started). Then, you will start to get frustrated because what you imagined doesn't exactly align with your experience and you'll get the urge to just give up and go back to what you know. You may also get that inner voice telling you that you can't do it, you're not good enough, and other people are already doing it better than you! All of which is utter B.S. by the way because it comes from a limited mindset. A mindset that believes that if someone is out there already doing it, it means there isn't enough room in this world for you to do it too. Again... UTTER B.S.
To combat all of this you will need to channel a growth mindset. A growth mindset looks at other people doing what you want to do and thinks "oh if they are doing it, that means it can be done and I want to do it too". And then you start to figure out how. Either by reaching out to other people who are doing it (like your friend Kels here), taking courses, building your skills, and setting yourself up to join the ranks of others who are doing it too!
And when you start to see the benefits of this mindset shift in your business you will naturally begin to apply it to every other aspect of your life and that's when the real life change begins!

3: YOU WILL NEVER LOOK AT MONEY THE SAME WAY AGAIN
This was an eye opening benefit for me, and the more I connect with other online business owners and digital/affiliate marketers I am noticing they are saying the same.
My friend Vick said this to me one day and I couldn't help but think "That's so true"! He said "When you come on too strong to a woman you just met they will run the other way. Well, money is the same way. If all you think about and focus on is money, it will run away from you".
Money is not limited. There is tons of money all around the world waiting to find it's way to a new wallet. Why? Because everyone, everywhere spends money on something. So why can't they spend money on your offers?
Think about it. If you are providing your audience with the value & solutions they need, they will buy from you. Because people don't buy products. They buy solutions, status, prestige, things that will enhance their life! So instead of focusing on how many things you can sell to them focus on what you can provide them to give them the solutions, status, prestige, and value they are looking for!
Starting an online business will require you to shift away from the person thinking and focusing on money and switch to the person who is thinking about the different ways they can add value to enhance their customer's life, resulting in MORE money for you when they buy the value you are offering!
The more you focus on how you can serve your audience with the products and services you are offering the more you will see that money starts flowing towards you again, because now you're not coming on too strong! The choice is up to you and if you want to do it right the first time, and not waste years and money trying different things out like I did.
